Founder's Story

Heidi Hindley: preserving a “Country Feeling”

Born and raised in Sonoma County, Heidi Hindley has always had a deep appreciation for the area’s open spaces, fresh air, and rural charm. As she watched the countryside gradually change, she became determined to preserve a place where dogs could still experience that authentic country feeling beneath their paws.

With decades of experience caring for dogs, horses, and livestock, Heidi understood the community’s need for exceptional pet care they could truly trust. KOVA Sonoma is the realization of that vision—a peaceful retreat where local families and visitors alike can leave their dogs knowing they’ll enjoy plenty of room to run, fresh country air, and compassionate, experienced care.

Thoughtfully Designed Grounds

Three acres of freedom, safety, and variety

Separate secure meadows for tiny, small, medium, and large dogs. A lounge area for older and rehabilitating dogs with calmer interactions. Adjoining gates between areas — so a large dog can play with a medium dog if they wish.

In-ground pool with perfect temperature (private lifeguard included), smaller splash pools, and a large fenced lawn around the pool.
